Angels on Earth

- Jitupan Talukdar.

As I stroll down the lane in the light of the moon.
Consumed in my own darkness....
Wounded by the fires of love, friendships, pain and regret.
As my once blue and sunny sky has turned into gloominess.

As I saw people cherishing your graces, God.
I too made a wish and watched as with the breeze it flew....
A prayer to take my hand and show me the path,
And awaited with empty hands as it never reached you.

But soon I unfolded something that was deeper than it seemed,
All these time those prayers collided with the clouds and rebounded wholely....
Towards the most divine angels among all,
"Parents": As they are mostly called lovingly.

Even with all my hassles, all my stress,
Because of only you, I am staying afloat...
You played the role of the Almighty in my life.
And that's the reason I want to thank you both.

Even if I made you smile and make your life full of bliss,
I won't be able to match the things you did for me....
As finally the agonies by those "masked" loved ones made me realize this,
Now it's my turn to make you happy.

You see, my friend, there's no one who can love you more.
Than your very own parents, that's for sure.
Always remember that this is true,
That wherever you go, your parents will be there for you.
